Methodology

How We Score Brokers

Complete transparency. Every factor, every weight, every data source — documented so traders know exactly what a score means.

The Formula

BrokerTrustScore™ = Weighted Average of 6 Factors

BrokerTrustScore™ Algorithm
Score = (Regulatory × 25%) + (Reviews × 30%) + (Withdrawals × 20%) + (Platform × 15%) + (Support × 10%)
All factors scored 1-10 · Final score rounded to 1 decimal · Updated every 24 hours

25%
Regulatory Score
License quality from 50+ global regulators. FCA, ASIC, CySEC score higher. Multiple licenses = bonus points. Any warning or suspension = immediate deduction.

User Reviews
AI-verified reviews only. Factors in: total volume, recency weight (last 90 days count more), star distribution, and complaint rate. Fake reviews are excluded.
💰
20%
Withdrawal Speed
Real withdrawal complaint data from verified traders. Average processing time, refusal rate, and delay complaints all factor in. Self-reported times are penalized.

Our Process

How a Broker Gets Scored

1
Data Collection

Regulatory Data Pulled Daily

Our automated system connects to 50+ regulatory databases worldwide every 24 hours. License status, warnings, sanctions, and enforcement actions are all captured in real time.

2
Review Verification

AI Fraud Detection on Every Review

Every submitted review passes through our machine learning fraud detection model trained on 3+ million reviews. Patterns like IP clustering, device fingerprinting, and linguistic anomalies flag suspicious reviews before publication.

3
Platform Testing

Hands-On Testing by Our Analysts

Our research team opens real accounts and tests platforms 3 times per year. We measure execution speed, test withdrawals, contact support, and evaluate the overall trading experience objectively.

4
Score Calculation

Weighted Algorithm Produces Final Score

All verified data points feed into our algorithm. Each factor is weighted according to its importance (see formula above), normalized to a 1-10 scale, and combined into a single BrokerTrustScore™.

5
Daily Update

Score Published and Updated Every 24 Hours

The final score is published on the broker's profile page. Any change in regulatory status, new verified reviews, or withdrawal complaints will immediately trigger a score recalculation.

FAQ

Methodology Questions

Can a broker pay to improve their score? +
Absolutely not. The BrokerTrustScore™ is calculated entirely by our algorithm using verified third-party data. No payment, relationship, or advertising contract can influence a broker's score. Advertising placements are separate and always clearly labeled.
How often do scores change? +
Scores are recalculated every 24 hours. In the event of a major regulatory action (such as a license revocation), scores can be updated in real time within minutes of us detecting the change.
How do you handle fake reviews? +
Our AI fraud detection system screens every review before publication. It identifies suspicious patterns including IP clustering, duplicate device fingerprints, unusual submission timing, and linguistic patterns. Reviews from flagged sources are quarantined and reviewed by our team.
What regulators do you monitor? +
We monitor over 50 global regulators including FCA (UK), ASIC (Australia), CySEC (EU/Cyprus), FSCA (South Africa), SEBI (India), MAS (Singapore), DFSA (Dubai), SEC (USA), FINMA (Switzerland), and many more.
How can a broker dispute their score? +
Brokers can contact our team to provide additional data or dispute specific data points used in their score calculation. We review all legitimate disputes and will update scores if the data supports a change. However, we never change scores based on commercial pressure.
